How Updates Work
Section titled “How Updates Work”Podium screens use ETag-based polling to detect changes:
- The screen quietly checks for updates every 5-60 seconds
- If new content is available, it updates automatically
- If nothing changed, no data is downloaded — efficient on bandwidth
Note: There may be a few seconds delay between hitting Publish and the screen updating. For smooth transitions, publish speaker changes slightly before the handover.
Full-Screen Mode
Section titled “Full-Screen Mode”For the best presentation quality, open the podium URL in full-screen mode:
- Windows/Linux:
F11 - Mac:
Cmd + Ctrl + F - Chrome kiosk mode (auto full-screen on boot): Ask your IT team to configure
--kioskflag
